MESSAGE FROM THE FATHER VICTOR MANUEL PRADO
I am the Father Victor Manuel Prado, administrator of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption since the March 22 2011, is a multicultural community, because here we have parishioners from Portugal, Germany, El Salvador, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala and the United States. This makes us a parish community very rich in their customs and traditions in where we are all united by the same faith, which is Jesus Christ, who by our baptism makes us his brothers and participants of the same inherit the Kingdom of the Heavens and with Mary his mother, our mother.
We have been working in the evangelization of our community to embrace the different parish movements, such as the prayer group "Divine Mercy", School of evangelization of San Andrés, Bible School, a group of young "Alpha and Omega", Apostolate of Mary, apostolate of Divine Mercy, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, proclaimers of the Word, Altar Servers, catechesis for children and adult catechesis, Marriage Encounter.
The Church was rebuilt and opened on October 10 2010, by Most Rev. Ricardo J. Garcia Bishop of the Diocese of Monterey and have been remodeled the gardens, has been built the kitchen of the parish hall and has been remodeled the rectory and the parish house, has been improved the lighting of the park and now we are working to build our parish hall since the current does not have the capacity to accommodate all the pastoral activities that are performed in our parish community.
The community of Our Lady of the Asunción every weekend around 2000 thousand people caring for Sunday Mass, Saturdays are held baptisms, weddings and quinceañeras which is held on the last Saturday of each month in groups of 3 young ladies, the Friday the young gather in the afternoon, the members of the Bible School, Apostolate of Mary and the rest of the week and the weekend, the catechesis of children and adults, and other ministries.
I would like to thank you for all the support they give me especially by their prayers, which are what make fruitful our priestly ministry and for their generosity to support the various projects, may God bless you all.
In Christ,
Fr. Víctor Manuel Prado
Administrator
